Buying Perfume For Yourself

Most people use scent of one kind or another, whether its function is to mask potential body odour or just for fun. When I say ‘fun’, I mean ‘pleasure’ or to be a magnet for admirers, whether you aim to do anything about them or not. There are literally thousands of scents to choose from and they are priced from cheap to exorbitantly expensive. So, when there are so many choices, how do you know which ones are suitable for you?

There are a few rules of thumb that you can use as guiding principles to help you choose which scent is appropriate for you. Firstly, you will have to know a little about the basic varieties of scent on hand, before you can find out which brand of perfume will suit you the best.

So, you can start by taking a look at the ingredients on the box. From these ingredients you can determine what type of fragrance is in the bottle. The basic types of scent are: light musk, natural scent, loud fragrance, floral fragrance, warm scent, bright cheerful scent and a few others.

You could get a small note book and make notes when you trial perfumes in various department stores. Maybe you will find musk too overwhelming for you or perhaps you do not want to smell like a garden flower. It is all very subjective and personal. No one can say that you are right or wrong.

One’s body chemistry plays a huge role in why a scent will smell lovely on your friend, but not so well on you. It is just a fact, that you cannot go by what smells good on someone else.

Scents that are manufactured from natural substances such as flowers, herbs or spices and even fruit tend to smell warm and soft. Examples of this type or fragrance are rose and lavender. Musk, however, may be made to produce a light fragrance that swirls softly around you, but it can be strong and heady too.

You may discover that you like a scent, but that it is just too overpowering for you. If that is the situation, you may be able to get it in Eau de Cologne or Toilet Water, which are weaker in concentration. Other than that, you could use less or dab it on the underside of your clothing where it might not be subject to so much body heat and so will not evaporate quite so quickly.

If you go about selecting the right perfume for yourself methodically, it could take quite some time to come across something that is ‘Essence De You’, but it is well worth it. What is a year, when you can wear the perfume for forty years? This is why I recommended getting a little note pad to keep in your bag before doing the rounds of the free trial counters in the department stores.

The salesgirls won’t mind, they will be pleased to show off their knowledge and be pleased that someone is taking a real interest in their merchandise. Then, once you have one, you could begin all over again, if you enjoyed finding the first perfume, but next time you will have a notebook full of pointers.

What Makes A Tennis Racket Right For You

Today’s tennis rackets are a far cry from those of yesteryear and have made playing the game even easier and more enjoyable. The old rackets were made of wood and required the use of a strong ancillary frame to keep them from warping when idle. Not so these days, and many rackets can be found for as little as around twenty dollars.

Today, rackets come in a variety of materials and wood is rarely chosen by serious players. A typical tennis racket now weighs only about 12 ounces and is made from a composite material that doesn’t require the use of a frame after hours to keep its shape. They have become larger than the rackets of the past and are also much more ‘forgiving’, especially beginners’ models.

Cheap tennis rackets are easy enough to find in most sporting goods stores and, of course, there are lots of places online from which they can be ordered. Those just beginning at the sport might do well to start off with something inexpensive, just in case tennis turns out to not be their cup of tea. You can always upgrade and pass the cheap model to a deserving niece or nephew.

Buying ‘inexpensive’ doesn’t have to mean buying junk. There are plenty of rackets available for twenty to thirty bucks that will serve a beginning player very well. More advanced players will generally graduate to more expensive units, in the one to two hundred dollar range.

Buying a junior tennis racquet can be even more reasonable and these models will be smaller in size and also sport a smaller grip as well. The size of the grip (measured as the circumference of the lower handle) is an important factor. A grip that is too large can cause problems with the user, especially carpal tunnel or tennis elbow.

Playing tennis is fun and good exercise too. Even elderly people find it enjoyable and, at this game speed isn’t always the determining factor. Being perceptive and accurate can be just as important.

If you’ve not yet played the game maybe it’s time to jump in and give it a try. It’s good exercise. It’s good fun, too.
